All Smiles after Leo’s Veneer experience at Mulholland Dental
If A picture is worth a thousand words, then a smile is worth a thousand friendships. Just a sincere smile can make someone’s day, change a mood and lift the whole rooms spirits. But what if you aren’t that confident with your grin?
When Leo and I met, one of the things that struck my heart first was his smile! It was big and bright and shined from the heart. Little did I know he was struggling with a self esteem issue when it came to his cute lil smirk.
Leo’s perfect smile journey started with Invisalign last year. He wore them for over a year to straighten out his bottom teeth and align his top teeth to perfection; But there was one more thing he wanted to fix before he had that “million dollar smile.”
The Dark Tooth
When he was a little kid one of his front teeth got knocked out while playing in the pool in Brazil. They fixed it with a temporary and called it a day. Well over the years the temporary became discolored and stood out as the odd tooth out in a row of his pearly whites.
Often times in photos we would color correct it so it wouldn’t look so dark but the fact of the matter was that in real life situations he was very aware and self conscious of the difference in appearance so he would hide his beautiful smile.
We obviously saw how nice veneers could look so we knew that was the route we needed to take to give Leo the complete smile he was looking for. We wanted to find a solution to repair just the one tooth but lemme tell ya it was quite the feat to find a dentist that would commit to fixing “just the one.”
Finding the Right Match – Just One Veneer…
As we looked around and priced out dentists near us we found that most dentist were pushing you to do minimum 4 to 10 veneers. They felt it would be much easier to match the porcelain to enamel if we did all the front teeth.
Our main concern was to find a dentist that was skilled and reputable!
Believe it or not, although some dentist call themselves “cosmetic dentist” there is no such recognized specialty like oral surgeon or orthodontist. I know! Shocking!
It’s the dentist job to make sure that the veneer functions right and lasts a long time. If the veneer is not fit or cemented properly you will form decay over time. If it’s not fit to ur bite it will break or pop off. We definitely wanted to find the right person for the job because if done wrong he could be dealing with a major issue later on.
It’s a Pretty Penny
We found veneers can range in price from $900-$2000 per tooth. So do ur homework! But expensive is not always better!!
Obviously Leo’s other teeth are just fine and that would be silly to do so we continued our search…
That’s when we found the best dentist in town! Que Dr. Irani…
Mulholland Dental
We found Dr. Irani at Mulholland dental close to our home in Woodland Hill. When we explained what we were looking for we found him to be comfortable in his and technicians skills and confident that he could get great results.
He explained to us that every dentist should be doing “cosmetic dentistry” but some are just better at it because they focus on continuing their education and practice in that direction.
Dr. Irani has been doing and practicing cosmetic dentistry for 20 years so we knew we were in good hands!
It’s so relieving to know that you have found someone that you can trust and that they are looking out for your best interest!
The Office
It is located in the El Camino Shopping center in Woodland Hills. All of the staff was extremely nice and accommodating and the whole process was quick and painless.
The office is so gorgeous! Coincidentally enough the office is adorned in travel murals which we took as a sign!

A Complete Smile
The entire process only took two visits. The first was to remove the temporary that had been on forever from Brazil, take impressions and match the color to Leo’s enamel.
This would have been the toughest part for most dentist because like we said before it is difficult to match the porcelain to enamel and have a lab that is good enough to produce this type of veneer. But Dr. Irani and his team did it with ease and self assurance!
Then we went back to get the veneer set. It was extremely easy as well! He didn’t even need to numb Leo to set the tooth. He placed the tooth, set it and we were off on our way!
We are so happy we found Dr. Irani and will never go to anyone else!
Finding the right dentist that could complete Leo’s already almost perfect smile was so important! Now he is smiling ear to ear and it is lighting up my life!
